Obama "Fail" Stamp Appears in Republican Party Office

A photocopy set of mock postage stamps, bearing the profile of President Barack Obama along with the word "fail" above it, mysteriously appeared at the Republican Party headquarters in Granbury, Texas. Granbury is located in Hood county in North Central Texas.

The stamps, which appeared on a table along with other Republican literature, have no real monetary value, but many feel they show more than a bit of bad taste when it comes to how the American people feel about the man currently in the Office of The President of the United States. This feeling is shared by members of both the Democratic and Republican parties. The Post Office has said that they can be used as a "decorative" type stamp on mailings, as long as the appropriate postage is included. Supposedly, these stamps are not to say that the Republicans WANT the President to fail, but that they believe the stamps show the mind-set of the American people with how Obama has done his job so far.

According to Gallup polls lately, the President currently has a 44% approval rating. Whoever is responsible for these "stamps" deserves an A+ for their sense of poor taste, in my opinion. No one knows from whom or where they came from, they just "showed up one day".

I was always taught (by a Republican, no less) that if you couldn't bring yourself to respect the man holding the President's seat, you should at least respect the "office" itself. I believe that the mindset of the American people lately has set us back 50 years or so in human rights and forward thinking along with basic common respect for each other. This is my own opinion, and I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with me. I will not get into any deep profound discourses on politics with anyone, as I am not affiliated with any particular party and besides, those types of discussions usually dissolve into nonsense anyway. I suppose if I had to choose, that I would be an "Independent".

Regardless of your political affiliation, the American people should take this as a wake-up call. in a recent MAGAZINE interview with the "favorite son" of Osama Bin Laden (who trained with him in Afghanistan for many years, then left him because he was getting too crazy, even for his own son...) , he was asked if he thought his father would try another large scale attack on the United States. This 40-something year old son of bin Laden's said "no", he wouldn't. He said his father's original plan, when 9/11 happened, was to do something to get the United States into Afghanistan. he said if he could do that, it would turn into another "Vietnam" and bankrupt our country financially, morally and politically. He knew it would cause a huge divide in our country, as well as cost an astronomical amount of money. He was right, and it has worked, because WE HAVE ALLOWED OURSELVES TO BE MANIPULATED AND DIVIDED BY THE TERRORISTS AND OURSELVES! There is a lot to be said for the old saying "divide and conquer". Osama bin Laden may have started the ball rolling, but we have unfortunately played right into his hands if that was truly his original plan all along.

The American people are so divided now, I don't know what it will take to bring us back together. There is such an undercurrent of tension and suspicion, along with simmering anger, confusion and lack of faith in both our government and fellow man that I have begun to have little hope that the "United States of America" can ever be truly "united" again. I hope I am wrong. I pray that I am wrong. People, the terrorists started the job-we need to band together and not allow them to achieve their agenda. Wake up and act before it's too late.
